Hello. I hope you find my web site useful.
I'm Catherine Scott, I've been a qualified and practising counsellor for 14 years. During that time I have gained extensive experience in a variety of areas.
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and adhere to their code of practice and ethical standards. You can check out my membership by logging on to their web site at: www. bacp.co.uk
I offer safe, effective therapy to individuals, couples and groups.
I have a Diploma in Counselling and a Diploma in Counsellor Supervision.
In 2001 I undertook specialist training in Online Counselling as I feel this is the way forward for many people who, for whatever reason, do not feel face to face work is appropriate for them.
I regularly undertake further developmental training to increase my knowledge and provide high standards for my clients.
I have specialist training and experience in Addiction, Bereavment and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Counselling is helpful to many people at different times in their lives. There does not always need to be 'a problem'. It can be useful just to talk to someone who is experienced in listening and is not involved emotionally in your life.
Counselling provides a safe place to talk through your concerns without being judged or directed.
People often use counselling when:
They feel no one is listening to them
They don't want to worry their family or friends
They don't know which way to turn
They can't make decisions
